Career Research Project

In the 8th grade at SEBMS, students took part in activities to help begin thinking of career pathways of interest to them.  They toured the high school next door, visited the local college, and took a survey (interest inventory) through the guidance office which matched them with high, average, and low interest areas which in turn matched them with possible career choices.

In conjunction with these activities, the students in my English classes would use this information to complete a career research project.  This project allowed students to practice research and writing as well as speaking skills and made a connection between school and outside life.

Below you will find a few of the handouts and materials students were given during this project.
